Well, it is that time of year again; when everyone seems to be falling ill with something.

  My Favourite Tools to help Boost Your Immune System

~ Ingest high quality anti-oxidants. By either eating lots of healthy super fruits like; blueberries, raspberries, goji berries, blackberries. Or, in supplement form like Forever Green’s – “Aim“, “Azul” or “ImmuneEyes”. Each of these are in a whole food form supplement.

~ Take a minimum of 50 billion/day of a quality multi strain Probiotic, to boost the healthy bacteria in your digestive system.

~ If you or your body is really rundown and exhausted, a high quality, natural form, B vitamin like Solarstrips, will re-energize you!

Vitamin D is a must for us in the chilly, grey north, I recommend a minimum of 4000 mg per day during the winter months. You can also purchase a Natural Sunlight lamp to use daily.

~ Try taking an immune boosting complex such as; “ImmuneEyes”Colostrum, or Mushroom blends.

~ Eat and drink lots fresh, organic and GMO Free vegetables, to ensure a higher potassium and a nutrient rich diet. 

~ Eliminate congestive foods like Sugar, Dairy and Alcohol!

~ Oligotherapy – A natural antiviral and antibacterial, is silver colloidal/AG water and can be used early during an acute illness by taking a teaspoon every few hours. Other colloidal minerals that are great to have on hand are Cuprum-CU, which is good for infections and inflammations and Gold/AU, which helps stimulate the bodies natural defense. You can take these in combination or singularly, by taking 6-12 drops of each in a glass of water daily.

~ Herbs such as Echinacea, Goldenseal, Oregon grape, Astragalus, Wild indigo and Picrorrhiza, all help to boost ones immune system. Herbs are a highly concentrated bio-chemical substance and as such should be used carefully and not in excess. The most effective way to take these, is in extract/tincture form; 8-12 drops in a small amount of water, several times a day.

~ Oregano oil can be taken directly on the tongue and will kill most infections directly on contact. Be prepared for it’s strong taste! *Please note that all herbs are to be taken for short periods of time with a break in between. They are highly stimulatory and if taken for too long can be taxing on your body and potentially create a disturbance.

~ Garlic, preferably fresh and raw, kills everything; bad bacteria, virus and fungus, but don’t expect too much intimate contact with your loved ones while taking it!

Some extra advice I give all my clients;

First, make sure that you are eating according to your own body ecology. Avoid foods that weaken your system, such as sugar, dairy, soda, alcohol and everything non self supporting, as these will only congest your body further, especially DAIRY. Add healthy green super foods like kale and broccoli, along with lots of fresh veggies and antioxidant rich fruits or supplements as mentioned above. Finding food sources that are grown close to home, will guarantee they are full of healthy enzymes. I always freeze a ton of local berries in the summer, so I have lots to use in the winter.

Second, De-Stress! Stress on any level, is one of the biggest factors in how healthy you will be overall. Learn to recognize what is causing you to feel overloaded and find ways to release this stress.

One of the easiest ways to lessen your stress daily, is to do some deep breathing exercises. Remember that it is the OUT breath that is the relaxing one, so be sure to make it longer than the in-breath.

Also, take a few minutes every morning and night to focus on one positive thought or aspect in your life that brings you joy. It doesn’t have to be very big or complicated, as long as it bring levity and joy to your heart when you think of it, is all that matters.

Try some gentle stretches or yoga moves during the day when you feel you are getting tense, these can help to reprogram your muscles to let go. Some people find that Tai chi or yoga help while others find more intense physical activity is necessary to discharge the tension at the cellular level. Do whatever feels right for you, any movement that is positive and life affirming is good.

Going and getting some physical body work, like massage, cranial sacral, Myofacial massage or Rolfing, will also go a long way to releasing held tension that can, over time weaken your immune system.

Aside from de-stressing, be sure to get proper sleep and hydration when you are feeling run down! Lots of water with lemon, warm or cold is beneficial.

Last but certainly not least, if you feel like you’re fighting an infection, try these homeopathic remedies. They are always a must in every natural healing pharmacy. Both are also in my unique dynamic combinations seen below in my winter survival kit.

Oscillicoccinum – is a great all around infection remedy, used for septic or sluggish blood and lymph.

How to Resolve a Chronic Cough!

Whether you live in Alaska or Timbuktu; pathogens like influenza, pneumonia, pertussis, diphtheria and the typical head cold – rhinovirus abound.

In other words, there is always a chance you can succumb to one of these illnesses. Depending on your level of health, stress, the need for its particular life lesson and your ability to overcome it.

This spring has seen a rash of “pneumonia like” illnesses in Southwestern Ontario. Yet, with the normal, conventional support, they are not resolving. In fact, they are turning into long standing, exhausting, chronic coughs and congestion. 

As a healer one of the most important things when helping someone resolve any health issue, is to be very clear about what it is they are struggling with.

In a system of true natural medicine; knowing exactly what you are dealing with, helps one to know exactly what remedy is required to free that individual from this particular illness.

For example, every year, (this year included), I get calls from numerous individuals who have been fighting a bad cold, flu or pneumonia for months. Yet, even though they have done one, two or even three rounds of antibiotics, their illness hasn’t fully resolved. They are still not feeling 100% plus they have this nagging cough and congestion that just won’t go away.

WHY?

Because the real, whole issue hasn’t been addressed!

Often, these so called “diagnosis”, are a quick physical observation done at a walk in or a doctor’s office. Very rarely is a true analysis done to determine the exact pathogen you are struggling with. The fastest and most convenient route is taken; antibiotics are given with the hopes that this gives the patient the boost they need. No other support tools or advice are given. 

Conventional medicine has become a toxic, plastic bandage type support system, with no real understanding of how to heal or cure the whole state!

Several years ago my mom called, saying that she had been fighting a bad cold for over a week and that it seemed to be getting worse. She feared it was developing into pneumonia. Particularly, since her partner had just been “diagnosed” with pneumonia by his family doctor a week prior to her falling ill.

She did not want to do the heavy antibiotic route that he took, especially since he was still not getting better anyways. So I gave my usual suggestions for any acute illness;

– Begin to take and/or bump up the amount of probiotics you are taking to a minimum of 60 billion.

– Decrease congestive foods like dairy, wheat and sugar.

– Increase your Vitamin D by another 3 – 4000 iu/day.

Increase your intake of antioxidants, in the form of organic berries.

– Increase the quality of your nutrients; in fact the latest and most impressive whole food supplement I recommend is Solarstrips by FGXpress. This should be your daily supplement, and when feeling rundown take more than one a day to pick yourself back up quickly.

– Try a natural cough syrup, like Nin Jiom herbal.

– Rest.

She immediately implemented these initial strategies along with some dynamic combinations from me, similar to the Winter Survival kit. I also gave her some powders of the specific pathogen and pathic remedies to clear the pneumonia.

This initially seemed to be helping, she started to feel better and her cough subsided. However, a couple weeks later, the nagging cough had not left and she was starting to feel rundown again.

Because I was still going on the “assumption” it was pneumonia, since that is what the doctor had diagnosed earlier. We did another round of pneumonia specific remedies, thinking that we just didn’t hit it deep enough. I suggested more anti-oxidants, higher probiotic support and rest.

Again, the remedies seemed to help up to a point, but the nagging cough persisted.

Several weeks later, when I was talking to my mom she commented that she hadn’t quite gotten rid of the cough; I decided to run my CoRe diagnostic system on her to see what it suggested.

Low and behold, Pertussis came up strong for her – not Pneumonia!

Now I know, that we all seem to think that the aggressive vaccine campaigns that are run on us and our children has diminished these illnesses, but they haven’t. In fact it is truly impossible to eliminate a natural, universal pathogen. They have developed for a reason, they have a purpose in helping us humans, unfold our own destiny, health and ability to overcome and evolve.

Tons of books have been written showing that these “common” childhood illnesses were slowly on a decline long before vaccines were introduced. Mainly due to better living conditions and a natural evolution, that many people had already gone through them, survived and built up natural immunity. Along with, passing on that immunity to the next generation.

This is what evolution is all about.

So enough about vaccines.

When Pertussis came up, I immediately was struck by one of those “Ah Ha” moments. This made total sense to me, since it is known as the “100 day cough”.

I reviewed the mental and emotional states of pertussis and pneumonia to see how they compared to where my mom was resonating in her life at this time.

Pneumonia is always about being completely mentally, emotionally and physically overdone. Complete shutdown due to having taken on way too much in life and often things that are not yours to take on. So the body says ” Enough is Enough!.

This didn’t seem to fit with my mom.

Pertussis on the other hand, resonates with an individual who is feeling bothered, irritated and touchy about what is going on in and around them in life. The hard “barking” cough of pertussis is an expression of anger, that is not consciously being addressed. Just like a dog barking in warning, so too, is the cough of the 100 day cough, an attempt of the life force to get ones attention that something is irritating them.

This made total sense!

Pertussis is often called walking pneumonia, since classic pneumonia is a total shutdown, whereby, the individual literally cannot get up off the bed or couch. There is complete exhaustion with pneumonia. Whereas in pertussis, one can still get up and get things done. Can plug away at life, even while, the irritating cough continues.

So, I made the pertussis specific remedies in ascending dose. We discussed the state of mind; why she was feeling this way, and what to do to help herself resolve it in every way. She took the powders, made some necessary changes in her life and low and behold the cough finally went away.

Miraculous! Not really, just applying the correct natural, law abiding medicine, in the right potency will work every single time. With or without the conscious outer work. Simply by the fact that, Dynamic Medicine addresses the whole issue – mental, emotional and physical all at once, safely and effectively!

The key to resolving any chronic cough or illness, is knowing exactly what you are dealing with.
