How to Recover Quickly from any Illness!

It seems like every time I turn around right now, someone is hack, coughing, sneezing or calling for help because they are down and out in bed with a “bug”!

Sometimes no matter what we do we still get sick.

Whether it’s in acute cough, sinus infection, the flu or something more serious like pneumonia.

No matter what you may be struggling with right now; do whatever you can first and foremost to take care of your self!

Here is a list of support tools I use when I find myself struggling to recover from an illness.

 

The Best, All Natural Tools to Recover Quickly from any Illness!

The Key is to rebuilding your Natural, healing life force.

It is our natural ability to heal ourselves that is truly amazing. Yet, if this life force is so bogged down and overwhelmed, it simply can’t do it’s job quickly or fully.

In order to help it do so there are a number of things that we must do to help it!

 Step 1. Help your body eliminate.  

First get rid of the things that suppress your immune system like – Sugar, dairy, processed carbohydrates and alcohol.

Add some organ support like the drainage immune support in my Healthy Immunity kit and Winter Survival kit. Along with a good cleanse kit like this one – Liver Master Cleanse!

Then eliminate, at least temporarily, any unnecessary things in your life that are causing you stress – jobs, projects, people, exercise etc. 

In other words, slow down, relax, unwind and just love yourself!

Step 2.  Increase your Bio-available, raw, whole food nutrients.

Yep, that’s a mouthful, but a vital first step in recovering your health. We all know that we need to take care of our body, but we often do a poor job of it.

It’s important to learn to eat only when truly hungry, try to eat only high quality nutrients, get the right amount of rest and fluids. Along with adding the right support tools like supplements, herbs, essential oils etc. To help our life force eliminate and recover quickly.

Not overloading your body while it’s struggling to fight an infection is important. This is often why, when we do get sick, we have less of an appetite.

The longer we let our bodies stay run down and stressed with an illness the greater chance that illness will turn into something more aggressive and damaging and we don’t want that!!

Along with lots and lots of clean healthy fluids, like lemon water.

Step 3. Finally start adding in things that are well known to fight infections. Such as:

Herbs,  like Olive Leaf Extract, Elderberry, Goldenseal (for O blood types) and Echinacea (for A & B blood types), Ginseng, Astragulus, Lobelia (specific for lungs and bronchioles)

Garlic, I actually take a whole clove chop it a bit and swallow with some water,  several times a day when sick.

Oregano oil, is super strong and one of the quickest ways to kill bacteria and virus both topically in the mouth and throat as well as systemically. I take 3 drops under my tongue, let it sit a few seconds then I take a bit of water to help wash it down.

Cayenne Pepper, one of the best decongestants on the market! mix in some water with a bit of lemon juice and drink quickly!

Extra Vitamin D, I will increase my D3 and K vitamin by 3 times when fighting an illness.

Probiotics, start taking at least 1 or 2, 50 billion multi strain probiotics while you are fighting an illness.

Extra Vitamin C, from 1000 mg – 10,000 mg a day.

Extra Vitamin A, take up to 15,000 IU a day. Food forms of Vitamin A are; Barley grass, carrots, egg yolk, fish, gotu kola and spirulina.

and Zinc,  a good dose is 200 – 500 mg/day. Natural food forms are; beans, beef, bilberry fruit, black strap molasses, egg yolk, legumes, seeds, nutritional yeast and fish.

Oligotherapy, Also known as Colloidal’s, are highly diluted minerals that are considered to be catalysts that speed up metabolism at the cellular level. In other words, breaking up old toxins, cleaning out and helping stimulate repair! The Cu/copper, Ag/silver and Au/gold are specific to infections, viral and bacterial. Use only for 2 weeks at a time though and only a 1/4 tsp in an 8 oz glass of water sipped over the day. These sometimes are hard to find in combination. If all you can get is Colloidal Silver that will do the trick just as well.

Essential oils, I use a blend of clove, lemon peel, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus leaf and rosemary oils and add it to a carrier oil like almond and rub it on the soles of my feet or neck below ears and along throat. 

Last but certainly not least is my absolute favourite tool to release not only the physical aspect of an illness but the unwanted thoughts, emotions or beliefs attached to why you resonated with it in the first place –  Dynamic Medicine!

I always start with the Drainage Immune as soon as I feel any sensation of an illness coming on!

Well, it is that time of year again; when everyone seems to be falling ill with something.

We’re all susceptible to illness. It all depends on how well you take care of yourself day to day; whether you are going to have to do battle with some acute illness this winter or not.

  My Favourite Tools to help Boost Your Immune System

~ Ingest high quality anti-oxidants. By either eating lots of healthy super fruits like; blueberries, raspberries, goji berries, blackberries. Or, in supplement form like Forever Green’s – “Aim“, “Azul” or “ImmuneEyes”. Each of these are in a whole food form supplement.

~ Take a minimum of 50 billion/day of a quality multi strain Probiotic, to boost the healthy bacteria in your digestive system.

~ If you or your body is really rundown and exhausted, a high quality, natural form, B vitamin like Solarstrips, will re-energize you!

Vitamin D is a must for us in the chilly, grey north, I recommend a minimum of 4000 mg per day during the winter months. You can also purchase a Natural Sunlight lamp to use daily.

~ Try taking an immune boosting complex such as; “ImmuneEyes”Colostrum, or Mushroom blends.

~ Eat and drink lots fresh, organic and GMO Free vegetables, to ensure a higher potassium and a nutrient rich diet. 

~ Eliminate congestive foods like Sugar, Dairy and Alcohol!

~ Oligotherapy – A natural antiviral and antibacterial, is silver colloidal/AG water and can be used early during an acute illness by taking a teaspoon every few hours. Other colloidal minerals that are great to have on hand are Cuprum-CU, which is good for infections and inflammations and Gold/AU, which helps stimulate the bodies natural defense. You can take these in combination or singularly, by taking 6-12 drops of each in a glass of water daily.

~ Herbs such as Echinacea, Goldenseal, Oregon grape, Astragalus, Wild indigo and Picrorrhiza, all help to boost ones immune system. Herbs are a highly concentrated bio-chemical substance and as such should be used carefully and not in excess. The most effective way to take these, is in extract/tincture form; 8-12 drops in a small amount of water, several times a day.

~ Oregano oil can be taken directly on the tongue and will kill most infections directly on contact. Be prepared for it’s strong taste! *Please note that all herbs are to be taken for short periods of time with a break in between. They are highly stimulatory and if taken for too long can be taxing on your body and potentially create a disturbance.

~ Garlic, preferably fresh and raw, kills everything; bad bacteria, virus and fungus, but don’t expect too much intimate contact with your loved ones while taking it!

Some extra advice I give all my clients;

First, make sure that you are eating according to your own body ecology. Avoid foods that weaken your system, such as sugar, dairy, soda, alcohol and everything non self supporting, as these will only congest your body further, especially DAIRY. Add healthy green super foods like kale and broccoli, along with lots of fresh veggies and antioxidant rich fruits or supplements as mentioned above. Finding food sources that are grown close to home, will guarantee they are full of healthy enzymes. I always freeze a ton of local berries in the summer, so I have lots to use in the winter.

Second, De-Stress! Stress on any level, is one of the biggest factors in how healthy you will be overall. Learn to recognize what is causing you to feel overloaded and find ways to release this stress.

One of the easiest ways to lessen your stress daily, is to do some deep breathing exercises. Remember that it is the OUT breath that is the relaxing one, so be sure to make it longer than the in-breath.

Also, take a few minutes every morning and night to focus on one positive thought or aspect in your life that brings you joy. It doesn’t have to be very big or complicated, as long as it bring levity and joy to your heart when you think of it, is all that matters.

Try some gentle stretches or yoga moves during the day when you feel you are getting tense, these can help to reprogram your muscles to let go. Some people find that Tai chi or yoga help while others find more intense physical activity is necessary to discharge the tension at the cellular level. Do whatever feels right for you, any movement that is positive and life affirming is good.

Going and getting some physical body work, like massage, cranial sacral, Myofacial massage or Rolfing, will also go a long way to releasing held tension that can, over time weaken your immune system.

Aside from de-stressing, be sure to get proper sleep and hydration when you are feeling run down! Lots of water with lemon, warm or cold is beneficial.

Last but certainly not least, if you feel like you’re fighting an infection, try these homeopathic remedies. They are always a must in every natural healing pharmacy. Both are also in my unique dynamic combinations seen below in my winter survival kit.

Oscillicoccinum – is a great all around infection remedy, used for septic or sluggish blood and lymph.

Aconite and gelsemium are both great remedies for the beginning phase of most infections. Aconite is more directed towards when it feels like it has hit you quickly and out of the blue. Whereas, gelsemium is when you feel it coming on slowly and feel run down and tired with it.
