For me, New Years is about reflecting on the past year and making positive changes for the coming year.
To be honest, for years I resisted the idea of a new years resolution, and I couldn’t figure out why.
Then a few years ago I realized that what I was resisting was giving my full attention to releasing the negative energy and habits in my life.
I didn’t want to focus on the negative.
The thought of focusing solely on MY NEGATIVE habits or certain things in my life that I disliked; made me feel like I was actually giving more power to those negative things.
The idea of resolving never made sense, it felt contractive, like I was giving up on myself.
Instead, I want to focus on doing something positive!
I would rather, start my new year with a powerful “Intention”.
To create healthier more self affirming and loving habits.
Which is an idea, that is filled with inner thoughts and emotions about who I want to be, and achieve this coming year.

- More emotional wellbeing
- Maybe you really want to ramp up your wealth and success in your career?
Whatever you desire to attain this year on behalf of your SELF, GO FOR IT!
Set an intention on New Years Eve, or the first new moon of the year. (which falls on January 6th)
This helps solidify within your very soul, whatever you would like to bring into your life.
A personal intention is about deciding on a greater goal for your soul and spiritual journey. For your highest SELF!
An intention begins with imagination and imagination always triggers inspiration and joy in the soul.
Below are some steps, that you can utilize to help you move forward, into a new Self paradigm of health. One that is based on what YOU truly want in life.
One of the most important things in true SELF awareness and whole health, is having the ability to completely own your life. In a healthy, flexible, self sustaining way.
Now is the time to recreate your life, the way you want it!
Believe that you can be anything you desire, if you set the intention and then put into place the right methods needed to reach that goal.
Once you have recognized something you’d like to change in your life; It’s time to step out of that old habit and create a new healthier pattern.
A lifelong habit can be hard to break, but it is possible.
It take’s conscious due diligence and effort!
It’s easy to fall back into the rut of an old habit. So being really attentive and keeping track of the direction you want to go and the steps you are taking to get there will help tremendously.
How to Create A Healthier You, This Year!
Get yourself a fun little journal to keep track of all these steps you are going to create and achieve. So you can review them every day at least two times a day.
Step 1: Think of what you truly want your life to look like.
The key to this step is to take tiny, baby steps. The way to do that, is to start writing down all the things you would like in your life. They can be anything, this is your ultimate life. Even if you really, really want to run a marathon but feel its unattainable – put it down!
However, it is best to start with some basic life goals such as:
- “I want to wake up each day with peace and joy in my heart!”
- “I want to be pain free and full of energy every day.”
- ” I want to work 3 – 4 hours a day Monday to Thursday, enjoy lots of personal development time, of spend 2 hours of quality time with my loved ones every day.” etc.
Now it’s your turn! Take out your journal and,
Write down what your life, health or overall state you want to achieve, would look like.
Fill in as much detail as you want. Along with, all thoughts, actions, emotions, the people, places and events that would make your life, health or state exactly as you want it.
This is YOUR life, so make it all about YOU!
Remember you can always modify this as time goes on and as your desires change.
Once you have your life, health or state designed, you can expand it in any way you want. Have fun with it, be creative, give yourself permission to dream big. Because anything is possible if you just believe!
Step 2: Manifest your desire!
The way to begin manifesting whatever you desire, is to begin imagining it with the right emotion!
Your imagination is connected to your etheric life force, which is connected to the creative, life affirming energy of the universe! Imagination connected to your personal emotion is a powerful force. You simply need to begin to trust and utilize it.
Your action step here, is to take time each morning and night, to imagine yourself living your perfect day, from start to end.
The trick to manifesting through imagination, is to include all your feelings into your thoughts and actions.
So, however you want to feel, you must imagine how that feeling, actually feels! How does it FEEL to be living this day? Write down those main emotions and remember them with as much energy as you can.
To help get you started, you can first think of something in your life memories that puts you into that exact state of joy, peace, pleasure, love, success, etc…. Once you can recall that emotion and well it up within your body once again. Let it build as much as you can, then hold it and add it to your imaginary day activities.
The more you practice this the better you will get at it and the faster it will manifest in your real life.
Step 3: Begin to take action steps.
Here is where you are going to begin to manifest what you desire for real. One tiny step at a time.
Now is the time to take that imaginary perfect day and begin to make it happen.
In order for this to occur you must rally your will forces. Trust in your higher Self and have the courage to make changes. To step out of your old comfy track suit and try on those sexy, red leather pants!!
In other words, face the fear and do it anyways.
Nothing in life is ever as scary as we make it out to be in your mind. At least nothing in your normal day to day life. If you are living in a war zone or are dropped in the middle of a jungle, okay be afraid. Use that fear to survive! However, in your life right now, what are you really afraid of when it comes to living your life in exactly the way you desire?
Write down those fears. Bring them to light, shine a huge beam of love at them and know that you can and will let them go. That they do not have any power over you unless you choose to let them.
Ask for guidance, and trust that the universe will provide you an answer. You just need to stay open and listen for it.
Face each fear one at a time. Conquer one obstacle a day, a week or a month. By simply owning the responsibility of whatever it is.
Remember, one tiny, doable step at a time.
If all you can manage, right now, is to be able to wake up and enjoy half an hour of personal quiet time, or only manage to do a 5 minute walk in the morning or afternoon instead of that massive run or workout you really want to do. That’s okay.
Honour what you did do for yourself that day, no matter how small.
The more you honour yourself, give yourself love and gratitude, the greater you will begin to feel overall. As you begin to feel better over all, you will want to do more great things for yourself.
It’s like building a snow ball of self love, the more positive states you add to it the bigger it will grow. And the more fun you will have throwing it around and sharing that love.
So what one thing can you do today that will bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart? Go and do it Now!
Then, what one thing in your life have you been avoiding or putting off out of fear?
Go and look at it next, and take one step towards releasing it through a positive intention.
Thank your SELF for being so brave and having the courage to love yourself in that way!
