The long dark days of Winter in Canada, and the cold grey skies lead to even the happiest of people to complain and feel low.
So many people suffer from what is called SADS or Seasonal Affective Disorder.
Our energetic life force that controls all of our thoughts, emotions and physical actions, is connected to the flow of universal energy. So when the seasons change and the weather patterns fluctuate, we are affected on all levels by this chaos and change.
If you struggle with any kind of change in life, you will be more susceptible to falling victim to this state.
SADS can be deceiving. You might not even be aware that you are suffering from it until you are so low, you can’t get yourself up.
Are you suffering from any of these common Seasonal Affective Disorder symptoms now?
- Tiredness or low energy
- Problems getting along with other people
- Hypersensitivity to rejection
- Heavy, “leaden” feeling in the arms or legs
- Appetite changes, especially a craving for foods high in carbohydrates
- Or, no appetite
- Unusual weight gain
We are all affected by the changes in seasonal energy, to some degree or another. Even in my house, the kids feel tireder, need more sleep than usual and have trouble getting any kind of extra motivation.
There are many degrees and layers that can cause SADS. There may be a miasmatic influence (these are your inherent genetic predispositions), deep emotional and belief trauma’s that are not fully released that cause blockages in your energetic life force. Such as, past hurts, and pain. As well as, nutritional deficiencies and imbalances.
Here is how you can Break Free from Seasonal Affective Disorder.
First, increase your nutritional intake.
Take – 45 billion, combination probiotic supplement once a day, 4000 iu of Vitamin D3 with K2 daily, along with a quality super green supplement like Spirulina or Marine Phytoplankton and lots of anti-oxidants in the form of local berries or a berry blend powder.
The second most important activity is to be ACTIVE.
I know that this time of year it’s easy to spend more time indoors, snuggling on the couch watching movies and eating snacks. I do it too! However, to keep your body from falling into the pit of despair, it is wise to keep it active every day, even if just for a 20 minute power walk around the block.
You want to keep those good happy hormones – endorphins pumping through your system!
Next, do some quality and life empowering breath work, like deep powerful HUH’s to recharge and oxygenate your body. To do these, be sure to sit or stand straight, tall and proud; take as deep a breath as you can, hold it for a count of 3 then push it out through your mouth with as much force as you can saying – HUH. Be sure to keep pushing all the air out after, as this creates cellular relaxation, which allows for more intake of energy and oxygen.
Try to do 3 – 6 of these at a time. If they make you dizzy, it’s because you have stirred up some deep rigid energy spots. It’s okay, just wait and try again later.
Sunshine is always the best way to recharge and restore your vital life force energy. We all know how easy it is to feel happy on a sunny day. The problem with Winter, is that the weather is often grey, cold and wet/snowy.
